Event Description
The Master Black Belt program includes an intensive 5-day classroom training on the ASU campus in Tempe, Arizona, plus access to four online resource courses. The format of the classroom training is lecture, discussion, activities and presentations.

Participants will be required to demonstrate their knowledge of key concepts learned in class by completing a white paper, a high level report on how to deploy six sigma within their organization. The report will identify a problem statement, define a tactical approach, and demonstrate technical tools and methods, and how to implement the plan. To assist in developing this white paper participants will have access to five online courses; Lean Green Belt, Design of Experiments, Response Surface Methodology, Design for Six Sigma and Forecasting Time Series Analysis. Participants have access to the courses until the white paper deadline, which is 60 days after the classroom session ends.

The courses can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Upon completion of all of the requirements for the program, the participant will receive certification as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt from the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. In order to be accepted to this program you must:
  • Have three years of experience as a black belt,
  • Have three documented projects
  • You must register for the course and email your credentials to catalina.monsalve@asu.edu within one week to be reviewed by faculty for the program.
    • Send a short description of your three projects
    • When and where you were certified as a black belt, and
    • A description of your work experience in letter form or a resume

This review process usually takes about one week. We will notify you if you are accepted. If you are not accepted we will refund your fees.
