Born in Southampton in 1968, Simon Rogan is a British chef who rose through the ranks with stints under the tutelage of some of the most acclaimed and talented chefs. Simon opened his first original restaurant, L’Enclume, next to the River Eea in Cartmel, in 2002; it has been awarded two Michelin stars and was voted the Best Restaurant in the UK by the Good Food Guide 2014. Simon’s new restaurant, Fera at Claridge’s, opened on 6 May 2014. The name Fera, which means ‘wild’ in Latin, reflects both the primal influence of nature and the highly seasonal ingredients used in his cooking. The restaurant has been ranked #19 in the Waitrose Good Food Guide 2015 with a high entry rating of 7/10, and was awarded a Michelin star in the 2015 guide. |
