YB Dato' Seri Ahmad Husni Mohamad Hanadzlah,
Minister of Finance II of Malaysia, confirmed as keynote speaker
Overview
Kuala Lumpur 26th November 2013
Southeast Asia is in the midst of an economic boom, as evidenced by the sharp rise in
the number of people who now fall into the middle class demographic, and the
increasing levels of wealth that have created a new and growing generation of
‘high net worth’ and ‘ultra high net worth’ individuals. Indeed, the number of high
net worth individuals (HNIs) in Asia is
believed to be growing at twice the international rate, which goes some way to
explaining why the global wealth management industry has been increasingly
shifting its focus eastwards.
While the powerhouse economies of China and India
continue to dominate the headlines, there is mounting interest in the emergence
of ASEAN countries such as Indonesia,
where the world’s largest Muslim population is helping to drive growth in Islamic
wealth management markets. The variation in the demographics of these
countries makes for a vastly different wealth management environment to that of
Europe and the US, and the race is on to understand the mindset of today’s HNW
and UHNW ASEAN population.
FT Live, in association with Labuan IBFC, is delighted
to present a full-day summit to discuss the fast-moving evolution of the wealth
management industry and the impact of Southeast Asia's growth. Leading industry participants, from both conventional and
Islamic disciplines, will provide expert knowledge and analysis through
keynote presentations, panel sessions and onstage interviews. This is an
exciting time for the ASEAN region but what are the best
wealth management strategies that position HNW and UHNW individuals and families for the future?
