AJ Janosko had a big personality and an even bigger heart. His wonderful
life had a tremendous effect on so many people. While on vacation, AJ
was fatally injured in an accidental fall while doing what he loved most –
spending time with his family. AJ died the same way he lived – by living
life to the absolute fullest and, even in the end, by giving. Because of his
unselfish choice to be an organ donor, five people were immediately given
new leases on their lives from receiving his organs along with up to 50
other patients’ lives improving from receiving his tissue donations.
On Friday, June 5th, AJ Janosko’s family will host the inaugural AJ
Janosko Golf Classic at Landsdowne Resort, in Leesburg, VA, to honor
him and his generous gifts of life. Proceeds from the event will benefit
the AJ Janosko Education Trust and the Washington Regional Transplant
Center (WRTC). The AJ Janosko Education Trust was established to
assist in funding the college education for his two young sons, Andrew
and Jackson. The WRTC is a non-profit organ procurement organization,
serving the Washington, DC metro area in identifying, coordinating,
and managing all local organ, eye, and tissue donors, and recipients,
while also providing free public education and bereavement programs.
AJ’s inspiring story has already motivated countless people to change
their organ donation status to YES. Join us in this opportunity to build
awareness and raise funds that will assist AJ’s sons continuing education
and contribute to numerous transplant recipient and donor families.
The Janosko family hopes that you will join them in being a part of the
inaugural AJ Janosko Golf Classic. The spirit of this event is sure to
embody that by which AJ lived his life – with a lot of love, laughter and
always creating wonderful new memories, making the AJ Janosko Golf
Classic one of the more meaningful charity golf tournaments in
Northern Virginia.
