Mr Nicolas Borel COO Travel Intelligence Amadeus IT Group Nicolas has spent almost all of his career in Business Intelligence (BI), starting as a consultant at Micropole-Univers, where he developed the Data Warehouse for Sagem’s subsidiary SCS dedicated to mobile telephony. He then moved to Air France to lead the Revenue Data Warehouse project: a transverse BI solution with 3,000+ users in all commercial departments, ranging from central Revenue Management/Pricing to worldwide Sales in all markets. Further to the merger with KLM, he joined the French Market Division as Key Account Manager, dealing with both private and public customers. His track records – which he fully attributes to the BI tool he had built previously! – saw him promoted as Corporate Sales Manager for the Public Sector, generating € 240 M of annual revenue. After a few years, he moved to the other side of the table by becoming the Corporate Travel Manager of SITA, where he observed a general lack of tools for travel purchasers. Having built several of them, he launched his own consultancy company, opTmo, offering other corporations to benefit from his end-to-end experience. Finally, he joined Amadeus, first in Business Development where he led a strategic study promoting the creation of a Business Unit dedicated to BI. When the Travel Intelligence BU was officially launched in 2013, he was appointed its Chief Operating Officer, and now runs its daily business alongside the General Manager. Based in Madrid, Nicolas is a Swiss citizen who lives in Paris. He holds a Master in Mechanical Engineering and a post-graduate Master in International Project Management. | |
