Health & Vaccinations
Malaria: The Kruger National Park is designated as a malaria area and it is advisable to take malaria prophylaxy for the duration of your visit to the Lowveld. Please consult with your medical practitioner for advice on malaria and relevant vaccinations. Medical practitioner is available on site.
Climate
Skukuza Rest Camp (Kruger) normally receives rain during mid-summer (approx 353mm of rain per year). The lowest rainfall occurs in June (0mm). The average midday temperatures range from 24.5°C in July to 31.7°C in January. The region is the coldest during July when the mercury drops to 8.7°C on average during the night.

Travel By Air
There are more than 760 international flights per week to Johannesburg International (OR Tambo) Airport. Please check Skyscanner or, for multiple destination flights, check Expedia to see which airlines can take you to South-Africa and what tickets would cost.
Skukuza Airport (in the Kruger National Park and close to Skukuza rest camp)
There is a direct flight from Johannesburg International (OR Tambo) Airport to Skukuzu Airport, which is in the Kruger National Park. There is one daily flight available (45 minutes in duration) from Johannesburg to Skukuza Airport..

Airfares will be included in the registration fee, however there may be a surcharge subject to availability at the time of booking. Please note that no flights will be booked until registration fees are received in full. If you require alternative routing please email the events support team to assist you.

JNB/SZK: There is one flight option to select:
Option 1: Dep: 13:20 ; Arr: 14:10
SZK/JNB: There will be two flight options to select from:
Option 1: Dep: 13:30; Arr: 14:35
Option 2: Dep: 14:50 ; Arr: 15:50
Transport from Skukuza Airport to Skukuza rest camp is included. Please note, a surcharge may apply should you wish to travel outside of standard conference dates. This is a service that can only be booked via the conference organisers as no taxi or shuttle serivce exist.
Late arrivals
Late arrivals are only allowed in cases of emergency (proof and valid reason required) until 21:00 for guests with pre-booked accommodation at certain camps within 10 km distance from the relevant gate. An extra late arrival fee will be charged which is payable at the gate. No late arrivals are allowed at Pafuri, Phalaborwa or Phabeni gates or any other gates for camps more than 10 km away. The current late arrival fee for Skukuza camp is R500, valid from 1 November 2015.
