Topical focus on global standards24 March 2014
In less than five years the insurance industry will be subject to three new global capital standards. The first of these — the basic capital requirements (BCR) for global systemically important insurance groups — is due to be endorsed by the G-20 in November.
The conference’s panel debate on international standards will therefore be extremely timely, coming just as the field testing of the BCR draws to a close. On the panel, two regulators and two industry representatives will discuss the effect new standards will have on the world’s insurers.
Delegates will also hear first-hand from IAIS chair Peter Braumüller, whose keynote speech will cover the work to develop the standards.
