Dr Mallon is Associate Dean for Research and Innovation within the School of Medicine and Medical Science at University College Dublin (UCD). Dr Mallon trained in infectious diseases in Sydney, Australia, where he completed a PhD examining antiretroviral toxicities.  Since 2007 he has led the HIV Molecular Research Group (HMRG) based at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.  The HMRG focuses on translational research into toxicities of antiretroviral therapy, including cardiovascular disease, adipose tissue toxicity and bone disease.
