Landon Myer's research focuses on the roles of infectious diseases in shaping individual and population health in southern Africa, with a focus on HIV/AIDS in maternal and child health. His research incorporates understandings of biological mechanisms, individual behaviours, as well as structural conditions and health services. Dr Myer is based at the University of Cape Town's School of Public Health & Family Medicine, where he heads the Division of Epidemiology & Biostatistics and teaches epidemiological methods and clinical epidemiology.
