Carlos F Caceres was
originally trained as a physician and later completed doctoral training in
social epidemiology. He has a broad range of interests within the area of
HIV/STI prevention and care, sexuality and sexual health. His most important
work has been related to the social determinants of HIV/STI and structural
interventions to reduce vulnerability and improve access to care; local and
global HIV policy and global HIV initiatives; sexual diversity, sexual health
and rights; and, lately, the use of multidisciplinary research to improve
evidence-informed utilization of ARV-based HIV prevention within a Combination
HIV Prevention framework.
