Scott McClelland

Dr. McClelland is a Professor of Medicine, Epidemiology, and Global Health at the University of Washington.   He leads an open cohort study, initiated in 1993, that explores biological and behavioral risk factors for STI and HIV acquisition in Kenya (the Mombasa Cohort).  Dr. McClelland’s research focuses on understanding the relationships between vaginal infections, vaginal health, and women’s risk for acquiring STIs and HIV.  He has led two successful clinical trials of interventions targeting vaginal infections.
