Charles Heidsieck and Liberty Wines

Charles Heidsieck has had another vintage year – with winemaker Thierry Roset being named Sparkling Winemaker of the Year at the International Wine Challenge – the highest accolade a winemaker can receive. October 2014 sees the release of Thierry’s next vintage, the 2005, not officially released until the 14th October. When tasting the base wines of the warm 2005 vintage Thierry and his team put this blend together from eleven villages, 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Since then this wine has been ageing in the house’s Gallo-Roman cellars in Reims for eight years. Thierry says: “The wine is showing all the hallmarks of a classic Charles vintage; great depth, balance and richness which are typical of the Charles wines. A harmonious acidity and intensity suggest the wine has a long life ahead of it, and the capacity to age many years. Currently it is showing warm autumnal notes of praline and lightly toasted hazelnuts, with an intense palate of dried apricots, figs and dates. Full bodied with a lasting finish.”
For anyone with a taste for fine wine this is a unique opportunity to get hold of the 2005 Charles Heidsieck, which promises to be the next jewel in Charles Heidsieck’s award-winning range.
