As Head of Structured Bonds at ING Bank, Alistair Higgins is responsible for the origination of energy and infrastructure mandates involving institutional investor funding sources. This involves working closely with specialist product teams on the structuring and execution of mandates in London, Amsterdam, Brussels, New York and Singapore. He is also responsible for the coordination of the ING investor coverage model relevant to these mandates. Mr Higgins joined ING in 2008, leading deal teams both on advisory and arranging transactions across EMEA regions. More recently he has led ING initiatives to establish hybrid bank / capital market solutions for clients seeking cost effective long term financing for government tendered infrastructure projects. Mr Higgins has extensive experience as both an adviser and a financier, having worked on a broad range of concession, acquisition, PPP and utility financings. Prior to ING, Mr Higgins worked at bond insurer XLCA where he focused on the funding of infrastructure through capital markets. Mr Higgins started his career at CIBC, principally as an adviser to private sector clients on the structuring and bidding of PPP transactions. He has a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Manchester, England.
