Noburu Kato joined Sumitomo Bank in 1985 and is currently Director and General Manager of the Investment Banking Department, Asia at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in Singapore. The Department covers a broad range of structured products, including project finance, aircraft finance, LBOs, property finance, new products/business development, and credit distribution activities. Mr Kato has over 22 years’ experience in structured finance, mainly in project finance, and has worked in New York, Hong Kong, London, Tokyo and Singapore. He has structured and closed numerous project finance transactions across a broad range of sectors and countries. In 2013, Mr Kato was a member of the Infrastructure Sub-Committee established under the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Capital Market Committee. He is on the Board of Directors of Clifford Capital as a non-executive director. He has a degree in Social Science from International Christian University in Tokyo.
