Event Description

In this four-CPE program we will cover two interesting topics from a cyber investigation standpoint:

ESG Due Dilligence

Due Diligence for Environmental, Social and Governance: Public accountability for foreign and domestic companies regarding their impact on the environment, response to social justice, and transparent governance (ESG) is an increasing need in many industries around the world. Investigators and auditors are increasingly being hired or required to identify ESG concerns for corporate development and expansion into new markets, countries, and cultures. This module provides investigators and auditors with the tools to conduct ESG due diligence and write reports that provide potential investors, competitors, board of directors, and compliance professionals with transparent, real-time intelligence on a company’s non-financial key performance indicators (KPIs).

Insider Threats

Employers have many concerns when it comes to potential insider threat from employees, either based on poor practices, or malicious actions. The basis of all these threats lies in inadequate background checks of individuals, either prior to their employment, or while on the job. This module will be helpful to internal investigations being conducted by auditors, human resources, IT, or managers. In this intermediate to advanced hands-on module, participants will learn the ins and outs of conducting online investigations of an individual. You will be introduced to a plethora of databases, free resources, and techniques for locating a person’s history and their intentions.
