ASU Cares is the annual nationwide volunteer community service program organized by the ASU Alumni Association. Throughout the month of March, ASU alumni across the country will participate in volunteer projects in their communities, coordinated by the local ASU Alumni Chapters and Clubs.

For our local Tempe project, this year we are partnering with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul for a Hearts and Hands event.

The Society of St. Vincent De Paul harnesses the power of community and partnerships to feed, clothe, house and heal individuals and families in our community who have nowhere else to turn for help. SVdP provides meaningful opportunities for volunteers to serve their neighbors in need with love and compassion. We are proud to be partnering this year with St. Vincent De Paul to create Sweet Dreams and Welcome Home cards.

Imagine being homeless and finding a pretty, handmade card with warm words of care and encouragement on your pillow at the shelter, or spending time unhoused and finally being able to have a safe place to call your own, and with the keys to that place you receive a handmade card with a kind note welcoming you home. This is your opportunity to create that card and make a lasting impact in a stranger's life!

Not feeling creative? You can help us assemble utensil kits that are needed for the 4,600 meals that are served daily through 5 St. Vincent DePaul charity dining rooms.

St. VIncent De Paul is always in need of clothing, especially mens pants and shoes. Please consider bringing new or gently used items with you for our clothing collection as well.

This event is family-friendly and ALL are encouraged to participate!
