Educators in Grades K-12

Communication between spacecraft and scientists on Earth is fundamental to Artemis Missions and involves many considerations that are unique to transmission and reception of signals across large distances. In this webinar, we will simulate deep space communication through an activity that will allow students to analyze and interpret conversion between 8-bit RGB code to hexadecimal notation. This activity covers standards in Computer Science (CSTA 2-DA-07), NGSS Engineering Practice, and Common Core math standards on representation of numbers (CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.6.EE.B.6). We will also explore how to make these resources more culturally responsive. Join us for this free webinar!
