Program

When diagnosed with a blood cancer, you practically have to learn a new language overnight as you become familiar with diagnosis types, treatment names, interpreting test results, and of course your doctors, nurses, and support staff.

Join The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Hope Connections for Cancer Support for this free virtual education program to understand the roles and responsibilities of various members of your cancer care team as we deep-dive into the importance of communication during your cancer journey. We will explore the modern-day patient-centered care medical model and what it means for you (the patient), as well as how to approach difficult conversations, self-advocacy, and health literacy issues. Have a question you’ve always wondered, but haven’t felt comfortable asking? Bring those questions along for a safe space to chat with an experienced cancer nurse.

Participants will also learn about the resources available in their community and those provided by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Hope Connections for Cancer Support. Please invite caregivers and family members as well.
