General Terms and Conditions:

These Terms and Conditions are between The Financial Times Limited (“FT”) and the person who completes the relevant booking form (“You”) for the FT Live Event as described in the booking form (“Event”).

Confirmation of bookings

1. All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance by FT, which will be confirmed in writing (including by e-mail) after FT has received the completed booking form, the related fee if required (the “Fee”), and anything else that FT may require.

2. Upon FT's written confirmation to you of its acceptance of your booking for a place at the Event there shall be a legally binding contract between FT and You to which these terms and conditions apply.

3. FT reserves the right to refuse to accept any booking in its absolute discretion.

Fees

4. Fees for the Event are correct at the time of publication. FT reserves the right to change the Fees at any time but changes will not affect registrations which have already been confirmed by FT. The Fees (where required) are payable at the same time as you submit your booking form by credit card or cheque. You acknowledge that FT cannot guarantee places held on a provisional basis and that places may sell out.

5. The Fees include:

(i) For conference delegates: one place at the Event, refreshments, lunch and Event materials.
(ii) For awards dinner delegates: one place at the awards dinner and cocktail reception, refreshments, dinner and Event materials.

6. The Fees do not include travel to or from the Event or any accommodation costs incurred.

7. Under VAT Excise regulations delegates from all countries are required to pay VAT @ 20% on all Events taking place in the United Kingdom. For Events in other countries, delegates are required to pay any VAT, excise duty or other sales tax which is applicable.

Changes, Cancellations and Postponements

8. Whilst our programmes are correct at the time of going to press, in certain circumstances it may be necessary for FT to alter the content, format, venue or timing of an Event. All delegates will be notified of such changes prior to the Event.

9. If you cannot attend an Event for which you have registered, please contact FT as soon as possible (and in any event no later than 24 hours before the Event) at conference.enquiries@ft.com or Marketing Department, Financial Times Live Global Conferences & Events, Number One Southwark Bridge, London SE1 9HL, United Kingdom. FT may at our absolute discretion allow you to send a substitute in your place or allow you to attend the next available Event (provided that FT has received the details of such substitute).

10. If you notify us that you wish to cancel your attendance at an Event for which a Fee is payable, then cancellation charges shall apply as follows (please note that refunds may take up to 14 working days), which you agree represent a genuine pre-estimate of the costs FT will incur as a result of cancellation:

11. FT may in exceptional circumstances need to postpone or cancel an Event, and we will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable of any such postponement or cancellation. If an Event is cancelled, or if an Event is postponed and you cannot attend the rearranged date, we will refund any Fees you have paid in advance within 8 weeks. You agree that FT’s liability to you will be limited to the amount of the Fees you have paid and FT will not be liable to you for any expenditure, damage or loss incurred by you as a result of the cancellation or postponement.

Your attendance at the Event

12. Please advise us of any special access requirements at the time of making your booking.

13. FT reserves the right, without any liability, to refuse you admission or eject you from the Event for failure to comply with these Terms; or if in FT’s opinion you represent a security risk, nuisance or annoyance to the running of the Event.

14. You must not record, film or take photographs at the Event unless expressly permitted by FT.

15. Please note that for promotional purposes, the Event or part of it may be filmed by audio, visual, audio-visual or electronic means. You agree to permit FT to use and distribute such footage, which may feature images of you, in all or any media whether now known or hereafter to be invented throughout the world in perpetuity for the purposes of advertising, publicity, reporting and otherwise in relation to the exploitation of such recordings.

16. You are responsible for arranging your own appropriate insurance cover in connection with your attendance at the Event. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FT shall not be liable for any kind of loss or damage to you or your personal property, unless caused by our negligence.

17. Materials distributed by or on behalf of FT at an Event may not be reproduced without FT’s permission.

FT Liability

18. Views expressed by speakers are their own and FT disclaims all liability for advice given or views expressed during an Event. Materials distributed at an Event are intended for information only and should not be relied upon.

19. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FT shall not be liable to you for any direct, indirect, economic or consequential loss or any loss of business, use, profit, anticipated profit, contracts, revenues, goodwill or anticipated savings arising in connection with this Agreement, even if you have been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage.

Your details

20. By submitting registration details, you agree to allow FT and companies associated with the Event to contact you regarding their services. If you do not wish to receive such communications please email conference.enquiries@ft.com.

21. You agree that the contact details of registered delegates will be placed on the attendee list which will be passed to sponsoring companies and to all attendees for them to see who is at the conference for the purpose of networking and meetings. If you do not wish to be included on this list please email conference.enquiries@ft.com at the time of making your booking.

22. Information about the FT group and our privacy policy is available on www.FT.com. Registered Office: Number One Southwark Bridge, London SE1 9HL Registered No: 227590 England.

Other

23. These terms contain the entire agreement between you and FT.

24. If any provision of these terms is held to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable for any reason by any court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be severed and the remainder of the provisions will continue in full force and effect as if the terms had been executed with the invalid, illegal or unenforceable provision omitted.

25. Any express or implied waiver to perform any obligations under these terms will not prevent the subsequent enforcement of them.

26. A person who is not a party to these terms has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of these terms.

27. These terms shall be governed by English law and you hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. Nothing in this clause shall limit FT's right to take proceedings against you in any other court of competent jurisdiction.

Facebook Competition Terms and Conditions:

1. These terms and conditions are deemed to incorporate all instructions of how to take part as set out in the Prize Draw details and the “all you have to do” sections. No purchase necessary. The Prize Draw shall be void where prohibited by local law.

 
2. The prize shall consist of a two-day delegate pass for one person to attend the FT Digital Media Conference on 25-26th April 2013 (the “Prize”). Two winners will be selected. Winners are responsible for their own visas, travel, accommodation and insurance and any other costs associated with attending the Conference.

3. To enter the Prize Draw, simply enter your details into the FT Digital Media Conference micro-site prize draw page and submit. By entering into this Prize Draw you agree to the terms and conditions stated herein and acknowledge that failure to comply with them may result in disqualification.
 
4. This Prize Draw is only available to individuals who are over 21 years of age, excluding directors and employees of The Financial Times Ltd (“FT”), their associated companies, agencies and immediate family. Individuals who have already paid to attend the FT Digital Media Conference may enter the Prize Draw and if they win, any payment already made to the FT will be refunded to them within a reasonable period.
 
5. Only one entry per person is permitted. Multiple or incomplete entries will be deemed to be invalid.
 
6. The winners of the Prize will be the first two individuals whose names are drawn at random from the valid entries received. The prize draw will take place on 12th April 2013. The FT will notify those persons selected by 15th April 2013 and the winners will be required to confirm acceptance of their prize on 19th April 2013. If a prize is declined or unclaimed by the acceptance date, or if a winner cannot reasonably be contacted from the details supplied, a supplementary winner may be drawn at FT’s discretion and will be notified by email or phone. The original entry that was drawn will then be forfeited. The winners may be required to complete and return a form by fax to confirm their eligibility (eg proof of age and/or proof of residency).

7. The names of the winners will be displayed on the FT Digital Media Conference micro-site prize draw page and FT Live Facebook page on 19th April 2013. The names will also be available after 22nd April 2013 upon receipt of a SAE to: Promotions, The Financial Times Ltd, Number One Southwark Bridge, London SE1 9HL.

8. By entering the Prize Draw, you agree to take part in any publicity relating to the Prize Draw if you are invited to do so and without further compensation. You consent to the FT's use of your name, likeness, picture, voice, opinions, biographical information and state of residence for promotional, publicity or advertising purposes worldwide in any media and on the World Wide Web, in perpetuity, without further payment, consideration, review or consent (where allowable).

9. No cash equivalent is available and the Prize is non-transferable. The FT reserves the right to cancel or amend the terms of this offer as required by circumstances or to substitute the Prizes being offered with equal or greater value.
 
10. The result of the Prize Draw is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
 
11. The FT and its agents and subcontractors cannot accept responsibility for entries lost or delayed in submission. Proof of submission is not proof of receipt.
 
12. This Prize Draw is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook. The information you provide to enter this Prize Draw is provided to the Financial Times Limited and not to Facebook.
 
13. It is important that in the event of a query, dispute, or disagreement regarding the Prizes offered, the matter is settled directly with the FT.
 
14. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the FT and Facebook accept no responsibility for, or liability arising from, participants taking part in the Prize Draw. All activities are undertaken at the participant's own risk. FT and Facebook give no warranty or guarantee in relation to the Prizes.

16. This Prize Draw shall be governed by English Law and any dispute arising in connection with the Prize Draw shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
