ALO Training: An Introduction to the Role at HLC

Program Description

Designed for new Accreditation Liaison Officers (ALOs), this online course provides an orientation to the ALO role and articulates its various responsibilities. The six-week training is self-paced, providing time for participants to review course videos and materials. Modules include an overview of regional accreditation and peer review, as well as instruction on submitting substantive change applications, expectations of regular and mandatory data reporting to HLC, and staying current using HLC’s website. The course also features tips from experienced ALOs on working successfully with HLC staff and building support for accreditation work on campus.

Materials

The course syllabus will be emailed to each confirmed participant prior to the start date of the course.

ALO's or their respective institutions are responsible for purchasing any software upgrades necessary to participate in the online course. Participants who have a high-speed internet connection and are able to run or teach an online course on their campus using Blackboard or D2L should already have everything they need to participate in this course.
