Course Summary
The In vitro skin absorption testing is part of recommended regulatory guidelines in the USA and the EU and of global interest to assess safety of exposure to chemicals when applied topically. The Personal Care Product Council (PCPC), the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) and the Scientific Committee of Consumer Products (SCCP) - have all issued guidelines to assess absorption of compounds from topically applied formulations. The objective of these guidelines is to obtain quantitative and/or qualitative information on the amounts of chemicals that may penetrate the skin during “real time” use. In the process of validation and adoption of methods to comply with REACH and the 7th amendment, OECD guidelines 428 were fully adopted by the EU Commission. The implications of skin penetration of compounds into and through the skin are of key importance in terms of systemic exposure, site of activity in the skin and potential adverse reactions.

This one-day seminar will describe the importance of evaluating skin absorption of compounds from topically applied formulations and explain the method fundamentals. A section dedicated to the location of the skin microbiome in the skin will further address newer science trends.

If five or more employees from the same company register for the same course, they may deduct $25.00 from each registration. If ten or more register for the same course, they may deduct $50.00 for each registration. All registration forms must be received together along with payment to receive the reduced rate.

All sales for CEP courses are final and non-refundable. If you cannot attend the original course you registered for, you can transfer the credit to a future course. Course fees are also transferable to another person at least 7 days before the course date.
