Josh Rice is the Sr. Director – Technology Sales & Security within the Worldwide Public Sector division at Microsoft Corp. Harnessing an extensive background in technology, Rice leads a team of sales and technology professionals who provide global strategic support to public sector customers by delivering innovative solutions that are focused on helping customers to make an impact by delivering new services and modernizing there technology infrastructure. He works in close collaboration with Governments and Microsoft partners around the world to ensure that Microsofts software and cloud services deliver the value that their constituents expect. Rice, who joined Microsoft in 2001, most recently served as the Sr. Director of Innovation, Director of Incubation Sales, and as a Senior Technology Strategist where he supported industry solutions focused on e-government, justice & public safety and emerging technologies. Before joining Microsoft, Rice spent 2 years with IBM Global services, supporting IBM/Lotus Customers . Rice began his career as an Sr. Analyst with the Diageo Corporation, managing a wide array of ICT projects in the US and Asia Pacific focused on providing core communication, collaboration and ERP services across Diageo’s facilities around the world. With more than 17 years of IT experience, Rice has spent the past 10 years helping customers and partners better utilize collaborative solutions and the processes of infrastructure consolidation, while staying focused on understanding how and when technology should be used to solve government problems.
