I am a candidate for a Chartered Accountant (CA) Certificate from the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Ghana (ICAG) Level III with a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree (BBA) in Accounting & Economics with distinction (Cum Laude). I am the Assistant Minister for Revenue, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance with oversight responsible of the Bureaus of Customs and Internal Revenue. I assist the Deputy Minister in Liberia’s Revenue Administration by providing policy advise to the Finance Minister and guidance to the Commissioners of Customs and Internal Revenue. We are currently implement a major reform for the merger of the Ministries of Finance and Planning and Economic Affairs to create the new Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and create a semi-autonomous Revenue Authority, Prior to becoming the Assistant Minister for Revenue, I was the Commissioner, Bureau of Customs and Excise, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Liberia and served in this position for 2 years and 11 months. As the Commissioner of Customs, I was responsible for the attainment of four major objectives for the Government of Liberia: Trade Facilitation, Revenue Collection, securing the economy and environment through adherence to modern customs standards and being a repository for trade Statistics. I was responsible for steering the three years reform and modernization program of the Bureau of Customs and Excise to include the introduction of automation using the ASYCUDA World System.
