Josephine Feehily, Chairman of the Office of the Revenue Commissioners, has been the head of the Irish Tax and Customs Administration since 2008. The first woman to hold that position in Ireland, she leads an organisation which is responsible for the administration of virtually all taxes and duties in Ireland. Ms Feehily has been one of the three Commissioners who form the Board of Revenue since 1998. In that time, her Board level executive responsibilities have included policy and legislation, tax collection, strategy and organisation development, Large Cases Division and the Customs Service. She represents Ireland on the bureau of the OECD Forum for Tax Administration and was recently appointed as Chair of the World Customs Organisation. Ms Feehily joined Revenue in 1993 as head of Human Resources and also served as Accountant-General of Revenue. A career public servant, Ms. Feehily previously worked in a range of positions in the Department of Social Welfare and the Pensions Board. She is a graduate of the National College of Ireland and Trinity College Dublin.
