Mr. Veermäe began his professional career as an inspector at the Tax Supervision Department of the Tallinn Tax Office for Legal Entities. After the merger of Tax and Customs administrations in 2004 he worked as the Head of VAT Refund Unit leading the processes of implementation of VAT law and development of electronic VAT refund control system. In 2005-2010 Mr. Veermäe worked as the Head of Audit Department. In addition he trained new tax officers in the National Defense Academy in the fields of transfer pricing, auditing and taxation rules. Mr. Veermäe was nominated the Deputy Director General of Estonian Tax and Customs Board in September 2010, since then he has been responsible for managing and supervising the work of the Revenue, Tax, Service Management, Customs Organization, Audit, and Investigation Departments.
