General Slawomir Pichor P o l a n d Deputy Head of the European Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine Slawomir Pichor was born in 1964, educated in Poland and held Diploma in Audit in Public Administration of the Warsaw University, Diploma in Foreign Trade of the Warsaw School of Economics, Master of Science Degree in Transport of the Technical University of Radom. He joined the Customs Service in 1991. In early assignments he served as a Customs Inspector of Anti-Fraud Unit in Regional Customs Office. Later on, in 1994 he was redeployed to the Central Board of Customs, where he served as advisor, specialist, senior specialist and head of unit in Internal Audit Department. From 1997 to 2007, Mr Pichor held various senior managerial positions at the Polish Customs Service: Director of Internal Audit Department in the Central Board of Customs; Director of Regional Customs Office in Warsaw; Deputy Director General of the Customs Service. In his capacity as Deputy Director General he represented the Customs Service in the Intergovernmental Committee for the Management of State Borders. He holds the rank of Chief Inspector which is classed as General Officer equal to Brigadier General in the Armed Forces. Mr Slawomir Pichor joined the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) as the Head of Operations in January 2008. Since October 2010 he has served as the Deputy Head of Mission. He is married with two children. He speaks English and Russian.
