Bio

         Derek Woodward is the current Chairman of the Board of the Conference of Asia Pacific Express Carriers (CAPEC).  CAPEC represents the interests of the express delivery services industry in the Asia Pacific and engages governments, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders based on genuine dialogue, relevance and authenticity leading to credibility and trust, to positively shape the public policy debate and outcome.  Our core objectives are: (1) to develop a conducive business and regulatory environment for the express delivery services industry; and (2) to facilitate trade expansion and economic growth in the region.

          As President of UPS Asia Pacific, Derek Woodward is responsible for all UPS package and supply chain operations in more than 40 countries and territories, including UPS owned operations, joint ventures and agent relationships throughout the region.

         Derek began his UPS career in 1985 in CanadaSince 1995, he has successfully assumed the responsibility of Vice President of Business Development in Canada and then Europe. He continued to take on roles of increasing responsibility and in 2002 held the position of Vice President of Corporate International Marketing which included marketing responsibility for all UPS businesses worldwide. In 2005 Derek assumed the position of Vice President of Corporate Business Development for UPS in the United States before he was relocated to Asia.

         In 2007, Derek was appointed Senior Vice President of Staff Services for UPS Asia Pacific Region responsible for the Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Finance & Accounting, and Human Resources functions of the company’s operations in Asia. Derek also played an integral role in streamlining UPS express package, logistics, warehousing, freight forwarding, and brokerage and airline operations in the Asia Pacific Region.

       A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Derek is a graduate of the University of Phoenix U.S.A. and completed the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD France.
