Exploring Cyberbullying Prevention Recommendations Across Stakeholder Groups

Laurie-ann M. Hellsten, Professor, University of Saskatchewan

This poster submission explores the similarities and differences in the cyberbullying prevention recommendations across a sample of stakeholder groups from a western Canadian province including youth, school counsellors, superintendents, school administrators, teaching professionals, and police services personnel. Analysis suggested all stakeholder groups supported the following four recommendations: (1) focus on empathy; (2) educate (digital citizenship); (3) increase parental engagement in the technology use of youth; and (4) build strong relationships with youth through increased communication.
