Bio

Ralph A. Cooley, DDS, FAGD: Dr. Cooley graduated from Rice University in 1977 and earned his dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1980. After 34 years in private practice, Dr. Cooley is now a full time associate professor at UT School of Dentistry in Houston focusing on patient care with second, third and fourth-year dental students. He currently is serving as the interim admissions coordinator for the school. He has a passion for “dental fitness” and teaches this as an elective at the school and at continuing education meetings in Texas. Dr. Cooley has been involved with organized dentistry in many capacities. He has served as president of the Texas Academy of General Dentistry (TAGD), served on the national AGD Board for six years, the ADA Council on Dental Benefit Programs, and the ADA Code Revision Committee. He has served as a delegate to the Texas Dental Association (TDA) House of Delegates, the AGD House, and the ADA House. Currently, he serves on the executive committee of the Dental Quality Alliance, and is the AGD representative to the Code Maintenance Committee.
