Michael Flaherty’s current role is Manager, Resource Development and Technical Assessment with FortisBC. He has been with FortisBC for seven years following a career working in the Construction and Pulp and Paper industries and a stint in Product Development in the fuel cell sector. He has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University Degree and a Master’s Degree from the University of Victoria focused on Energy Systems. In his time at FortisBC, he was worked in the thermal energy services business and Resource Development, exploring and evaluating expansions to FortisBC’s natural gas pipeline system to meet load growth. Over the past three years he was been involved in the Eagle Mountain-Woodfibre Gas Pipeline (EGP) project, with a particular focus on the Environmental Assessment.
