Andre van der Post joined Oracle in May 2006 to assist in the formulation of a strategy and approach to Integrated Revenue Management in EMEA. With the formation of Oracle's Tax Global Business Unit, he transferred across to the new unit in March of 2007 where he has been responsible for setting and driving Oracle’s Global strategy in respect of providing solutions to the Tax and Customs industries.

Van der Post has spent the last decade in numerous roles in the IT industry, the majority of which have been in the Systems Integrator space. He has also gained experience in a number of vertical industries over this period. However it was in joining the South African Revenue Services (SARS) in early 2003 that he found his niche - Revenue Administration Systems.

Here, in the role of Chief Technologist, he was given the responsibility of defining and implementing a systems transformation strategy that would take SARS through to the next decade. This strategy encompassed all systems used in Revenue authorities and spanned multiple technologies. Furthermore, he was accountable for driving innovation through technology into the organization. Through this, he has gained global exposure to the workings of Revenue Administrations, and to the systems that are used in both operational and support roles in these organizations.
