Shuttle service timetable now online!

ICCA provides a a shuttle service, which is running only from Kuching International Airport (KCH) to the official hotels on 11 and 12 November and from the hotels to the airport on 16 and 17 November.

ICCA Members Gift of Love: The Bookshare

Brooke the Orang-utan is the official mascot for ICCA 2016 Congress and he would like to raise book donations through the "Bookshare"initiative - a community project by the Librarians Association of Malaysia (Sarawak Chapter). Donated books will be distributed among the rural libraries and community centres across Sarawak. For children of the rural communities, these libraries are often their only source for reading materials.

Get up close and personal with our ancestors in Sarawak...

It is truly astounding that we as humans share 97% of our DNA structure with the Bornean Orangutans (Pongo Pygmaeus). However, one of the stark differences that remain between humans and the Orangutan species is the saddening yet harsh reality that due to habitat destruction and indiscriminate hunting, they are now a highly endangered species close to extinction from our planet, forever.

President’s Choice session speaker confirmed!

We are honoured to announce that Prof. Jonathan Jansen, Vice Chancellor of The University of Free State and President of the South African Institute of Race Relations — a position he will hold until August 2016 when he will step down to become a Fellow at the Centre for Advanced Studies at Stanford University in the United States — will be speaking at the 2016 ICCA Congress’s President’s Choice session in Kuching, Malaysia.

ICCA Site Inspection: Kuching, Malayisa

In May we had a congress site inspection, where the Local Host Committee and ICCA Director Events; Mieke van Loenen continued planning in order to ensure a successful congress. Mieke can report that Sarawak’s culture, cuisine and heritage will be a huge bonus for those in attendance this year and not only will delegates be able to enjoy a world-class line-up of speakers during the course of four days, but will also have the once in a lifetime opportunity to explore the beauty of Kuching.
