Description: This CHAIRSIDE FRIENDLY course is for clinicians. It is the follow up course to the morning session, “Antibiotics in Dentistry”. The dentist is faced with an aging population with a myriad of medical problems and physician prescribed medications. Medical problems like Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension therapy, Anticoagulant therapy and the drugs for a myriad of Cardiovascular Diseases directly affect Dental Treatment Planning and prescriptions written by the dentist. This course will provide the dentist with a framework for choosing Antibiotics, Analgesics, Local Anesthetics and other TOP 50 DENTAL PRESCRIPTIONS in this context of potential Drug-Drug interactions and medical disease.- Develop Algorithms for the Selection of Analgesics and Local Anesthetics and other drugs in the context of Medical Issues
- Know the important interactions with physician prescribed medications and medical diseases
- Know the medical diseases and drugs that complicate the delivery and success of Dental therapy
