Ian Robertson joined Capsugel in September, 2011 to design and establish business technology for the company and is responsible for leading the information technology strategy enabling Capsugel’s global operations. Ian also serves as a member of the Capsugel Executive Leadership Team.

Prior to joining Capsugel, he worked as SVP and Global CIO for Novartis Consumer Health, a division of the Novartis Corporation. Before moving into the Pharmaceutical industry, he spent over 12 years in the Consumer Products industry, initially with the Gillette group in London and Boston, and more recently with the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company in Chicago. He began his professional career as a Senior Consulting Engineer for ABB in Europe.

Ian now lives and works in the US in New Jersey, and is an active member of the IT and business communities, with a particular passion for advocating the role of technology in Education. He served for 7 years on the Chicago Mayor’s Council of Technology Advisors, and on the Cook County (ILL) Election Technology Committee.
