Pixels.io

Grace Woo and Szymon Jakubczak started Pixels.IO as a way to extend their PhD thesis work into reality. Through the support of the MIT Media Lab E14 fund and the generous support of the National Science Foundation, Pixels.IO is able to mature the understanding for how the human eye works differently from the camera and apply these discoveries toward the creation of a powerful interactive video player. Learn more about this solution at Demo Traction Boston 2015.

Since 2011, Grace's work has been featured in Fast Company, AList (an Asian-American publication helping define leadership), Elle Magazine, and numerous online publications including the Boston Globe. In 2012, Grace published "VRCodes: Unobtrusive and active visual codes for interaction by exploiting rolling shutter" thus leading to the formation of Pixels.IO. Today, Grace's work with Pixels.IO focuses on how to easily create content which is both unobtrusive and engaging with viewers.
