Scott Kirsner is a journalist who writes about innovation and entrepreneurship. His Innovation Economy column appears Sundays in the Boston Globe, and he also writes a companion blog at boston.com/innovation. Scott has been a regular contributor to Fast Company, CIO, BusinessWeek, Variety, and Wired. ScottÕs writing has also appeared in the New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, Salon, the San Jose Mercury News, and Newsweek, among other publications. Scott serves as the program chair for three annual events on innovation: the Nantucket Conference, held each May since 2000; Future Forward, held each fall since 2001; and the Convergence Forum, launched in 2004. He is the author, most recently, of the book Fans, Friends & Followers: Building an Audience and a Creative Career in the Digital Age. His earlier books include Inventing the Movies, a technological history of Hollywood that was published in 2008, and The Future of Web Video, published in 2007.
