Andrea Hampton has more than 15 years’ experience in operating as an intermediary between business and government in the area of trade facilitation and investment promotion throughout the world.  A further background in information communication technology assists in her approach to technology and trade.  Having worked for the US State Department, Chinese government, and a major international consultancy, for the last 10 years she has been leading Crown Agents’ efforts in pushing forward trade facilitation measures, particularly as related to information technology and the Single Window concept.  As a senior consultant and manager of Crown Agents’ technical assistance projects and with extensive experience in all of Crown Agents’ active regions, including Southeast and Central Asia, Africa and the Caribbean, Andrea brings hands-on, practical experience in implementing customs and trade modernisation initiatives.  She is a regular contributor to international discussions on trade facilitation particularly with regards to inter-agency and cross-border cooperation and is currently leading the development of UN/CEFACT Recommendation 36 on Single Window Interoperability.  Andrea is a qualified PRINCE2 and PMI Project Management Professional and holds a Bachelors’ degree in development economics from William and Mary in the US and a Master’s degree in Governance and Development from the Institute of Development Studies in the UK.
