Title Manager, Trade Facilitation Centre of Excellence Company Trade Facilitation Center, CrimsonLogic Pte Ltd, Singapore CrimsonLogic Bio Ian is
a trade facilitation expert with 24 years' experience based in the United
Kingdom, New Zealand and Singapore. In the mid-90’s, he played a key role in
one of the world's first Customs Modernization projects, while working for the
New Zealand Customs Service.
Over the years, he has been actively involved in
many trade facilitation initiatives for organisations such as the United
Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and e-Business (UN/CEFACT), the World
Customs Organization (WCO), the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the
Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the International Air
Transport Association (IATA).
After living 8 years in New Zealand, Ian returned
to the United Kingdom, where he was engaged as a Customs subject matter expert
for the ASEAN Single Window project. One year later, he was engaged by the
International Air Transport Association (IATA) to develop Cargo-XML, as part of
their e-Freight initiative, which is now an industry standard.
In his present
role at CrimsonLogic, based in Singapore, Ian has carried out various speaking
and consultancy engagements. In September 2012, he was involved in the
development of a National Trade Facilitation Roadmap for Greece. A month later,
in October 2012, he carried out a diagnostic study in Mexico, as part of APEC's
Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) Action Plan. More recently, he has carried out
data harmonization consultancies using the WCO Data Model for Oman’s new
Integrated Customs Management System (ICMS) and Electronic Single Window (ESW),
and for Malaysia’s new uCustoms system. |
