Event Description |
The amount of advice any young designer encounters in the first few years of their professional career is overwhelming. This is especially true in the type and lettering world—an industry with no clear path to follow. In this presentation, James will relay only the savoriest nuggets of wisdom that have traversed his ear canals in the past few years transitioning from student, to working professional.
About James:
James Edmondson is a freelance lettering artist and independent type designer based in San Francisco. You've seen his work—it's everywhere! James is responsible for Lavanderia, Wisdom Script, Edmondsans, Mission Script and more. His fonts are available for purchase at the Lost Type Foundry or on his personal website.
James was named among Print Magazine's New Visual Artists in 2013, and Typographica included Mission Script on their list of Typefaces of 2012. James recently completed his studies in the TypeMedia program at the Royal Academy of Art in the Netherlands.
The first 50 registrants will receive a free poster designed by James and screen printed by Prince Ink Co.
