International Conference on Medical Education
 


Riphah International University is one of the pioneers in commencing reforms in Medical Education. The University established Riphah Academy for Research and Education in 2006. Riphah International University decided to launch International Conference on Medical Education in 2009 having discussed and consulted with world leading experts in Medical Education (ICME), who visited Academy for Research and Education. The mission was to provide a credible and convincing platform for bringing together world’s leading experts on Medical Education and Educators mainly from South Asia, Middle East and Africa to prepare them to adopt recent innovations and standards in medical education so that the product from institutions in their countries matches and competes with the product from similar institutions in developed world.

The objectives of the ICME include:
  • To maintain excellence by building a culture of educational scholarship and research
  • To help inculcate ethics and professionalism in medical students and professionals
  • To explore and implement innovations and best practices for pedagogical skills
  • To develop curricula based on most modern educational standards and learning strategies
  • To share and learn from leading experts in medical and health professions education
So far three conferences have been organized by this platform
