Meet your colleagues at the early evening IAPWS Welcome Reception to take place in Clarke’s Bar at the Novotel Hotel on Sunday 27 November from 6 - 730pm.

IAPWS Conference Dinner

Wednesday November 30th 2022 

This year the conference dinner will be held at Te Puia Rotorua in the Te Whakaruruhau grand hall. 

Buses will take delegates to Te Puia from the Novotel Hotel Rotorua for the conference dinner, and return delegates to the Novotel after the dinner

About Te Puia

Te Puia spans 70 hectares within the historic Te Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley, on the edge of Rotorua.   It is a home to  the world famous Pōhutu geyser, mud pools, hot springs and silica formations. It is also home to the native Kiwi bird and the national schools of wood carving, weaving, stone and bone carving. Te Puia have shared these taonga (treasures) with manuhiri (visitors) for over 170 years and proudly continue that tradition today.

To start the conference dinner off,  guests will be treated to a Geothermal Valley night time tour of the geysers.  You will discover one of New Zealand’s most magnificent geothermal wonderlands – featuring dramatic geysers, bubbling mud and beautiful native bush. Until now, the magic hidden within Te Puia after hours has remained a secret that only Mother Nature has truly been exposed to. For the first time, the geothermal valley is revealed under night skies, providing a multi-sensory experience that can not be replicated anywhere else in the world. Hear the stories of the past and feel the beauty of Pōhutu in an interactive journey guided by light. 

Please note :-Walking shoes and a medium level of fitness needed. Ponchos and umbrellas provided if there are showers, however this experience will be subject to the weather.

After the night geyser tour we will engage in the traditional Cultural Welcome – some audience participation may be required!

This will be a time to take in the rich cultural history of the area and will be followed by a delicious banquet dinner
