Dear colleagues and friends!
With very great pleasure I wish to invite fellow prosecutors from all around the world to the 20th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors which will be held in Zurich, Switzerland from 13th to 17th September 2015.
Our conference theme will be „White-collar crime, corruption and money laundering“ During these precious days we will discuss legislation, international cooperation and the responsibilities of multi-national companies regarding money laundering. We shall hear about strategies against corruption, financial analysis in investigation and national as well as trans-border asset recovery. We expect around 500 fellow prosecutors from all around the globe who will share their experiences on these topics. Furthermore heads of prosecution services, experienced frontline prosecutors, academics, law enforcement officers and experts from the private sector will broaden our horizons and give us valuable knowledge for our daily responsibilities.
The IAP was founded on June 6th at the United Nations building in my home town Vienna twenty years ago with representatives from eleven countries. Our Association has grown up and is now the only worldwide body to represent and support prosecutors from all continents. Nearly 180 prosecutorial organisations and associations cover most countries and all regions of our planet as members of the IAP.
Zurich has recently been ranked one of the three best cities to live in, it has at long history going back to 4400 bc! Its setting in the most beautiful mountains, its architecture and traditions combined with Swiss hospitality and cuisine are going to be the perfect background for an intense professional program.
Our host, the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland has been working hard to prepare yet again the best Annual Conference of the IAP. They will continue to give their best until the closing event and farewell party are over. If you have ever experienced Swiss perfection you might have a vague idea what we can expect at this - our 20th - conference.
I hope to see many fellow prosecutors from all parts of the world this September in Zurich. I am positive that given Swiss preparations and your contributions, this is going to be another highlight in the history of the International Association of Prosecutors.
