Dear Colleagues,
As Attorney General of Switzerland it is a great pleasure for me to invite you to attend the 20th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP). These events will take place in Zurich, Switzerland, from 13 to 17 September 2015. It is an honor for me to be the host of this 20th jubilee.
The theme of the Conference will be “White-collar crime, corruption and money laundering”.
A world Conference of prosecutors to these subjects is timely. Corruption, money laundering and white-collar crime are fundamental threats of our jurisdictions and our society. Prosecutors, in the general perception of most of the people, are to ensure that our lives, our administrations and our business activities are not undermined and poisoned by these criminal phenomenon’s.
At the Zurich Conference we will have the opportunity to explore more thoroughly what are the strategies, the legal frameworks and best practices. Of importance it is also to see how prosecutors contribute to ensuring application.
I have no doubt that this Conference will provide us with a lot of moments of interesting and fruitful debate and will give prosecutors from all over the world opportunities to meet colleagues from other countries and to learn more from their experience.
We are expecting at this moment approximately 500 prosecutors to come to Zurich.
Be sure that the Swiss organizational committee will do all to make the 20th IAP a well organized, unforgettable and successful Conference.
