Ravindra Annigeri Ravindra Annigeri, also known as Ravi to his colleagues has more than 20 years of experience in gas turbines. Ravi has been with EthosEnergy since company formation in 2014, where he is responsible for application engineering and rotor solution commercialization initiatives supporting Major Maintenance customer’s in the Americas region. Prior to EthosEnergy formation, Ravi was with Siemens TurboCare business and was responsible for global Gas Turbine Service Engineering activities supporting OEM and oOEM gas turbines. Prior to joining Siemens in 2013, Ravi was with GE Power Generation business for 16 years holding several roles in design engineering, new product development and contractual services. At GE, Ravi started his career in gas turbine design focusing on Frame 7FA and H turbine development. His broad GE experiences include heavy duty gas turbines, hot gas path parts manufacturing, services engineering, new product development, planned maintenance and contract management. Before leaving GE, Ravi was responsible for managing GE’s long term service agreement contract on Frame 7FA, 7EA and D11 steam turbines. David Archambeault Currently the Director of Steam Turbine Engineering for EthosEnergy, leads a global team in support of fleet and customer specific engineered solutions from research & development through design, production & repair engineering through field service support. David joined EthosEnergy, previously TurboCare, in 2010 and has held various positions in Engineering and Project Management, leading the development of new product offerings for the various steam turbine markets. David has received multiple awards for industry related technical presentations/publications and holds a patent in steam turbine system design. Prior to joining EthosEnergy, spent 15 years at GE Aviation in Lynn, MA in various Engineering roles, as well as Marketing Manager and CSM at Boeing in Seattle, WA. Cristiano Balestrino Cristiano has joined Siemens in December 2014 as part of the acquisition of the Rolls-Royce Energy business. He has held the position of Portfolio Manager in the aero-derivative gas turbine business since November 2013, with responsibility for the alignment of R&D activities to market requirements and business strategies, support to sales and commercialization of new product offerings. Prior to this, he has held a number of positions in Project Management and Engineering, including Project Manager for gas turbine New Product Development programs. Before joining the operations in Montréal, Canada in 2009, Cristiano has spent five years in the UK within the Rolls-Royce Fuel Cells program, as Development Engineer and team lead. Klaus Brun The biography for Klaus Brun should be as follows: Dr. Brun is the Machinery Program Director at Southwest Research Institute where he leads an organization that focuses on R&D for the energy industry. His past experience includes positions in engineering, project management, and management at Solar Turbines, General Electric, and Alstom. He holds seven patents, authored over 250 papers, and published two textbooks on gas turbines. Dr. Brun is a Fellow of the ASME and won an R&D 100 award in 2007 for his Semi-Active Valve invention. He also won the ASME Industrial Gas Turbine Award in 2016 and ASME Oil & Gas Committee Best Paper/Tutorial awards in 1998, 2000, 2005, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016. He was chosen to the “40 under 40” by the San Antonio Business Journal in 2007. Dr. Brun is the past chair of the ASME-IGTI Board of Directors, the past Chairman of the ASME Oil & Gas Applications Committee, and the current chair of the ASME sCO2 Power Cycle Committee. Ghenadie Bulat Dr. Ghenadie Bulat is the Product Owner at Siemens where he is responsible as a global authority for the product development of a small gas turbine. Dr. Bulat joined Siemens in 2003, a Chartered Engineer, the Member of Institution of Mechanical Engineers, an elected committee member of British Section of the Combustion Institute and a visiting professor of combustion at Imperial College London. His experience includes 15 years of engineering and management within combustion at Siemens and at another GT OEM. He was responsible for managing combustion projects and resource allocation for aero-thermal design, testing and support of new products and technologies of small Siemens gas turbines His contribution is reflected in several combustion design improvements, peer reviewed paper publications and patents. Salvatore DellaVilla Salvatore A. Della Villa Jr. is the founder, Chairman, & CEO of Strategic Power Systems, Inc®. With over forty (40) years of experience in the reliability engineering and information technology disciplines, he has led SPS® in establishing the Operational Reliability Analysis Program (ORAP®) as the single largest global plant database in the energy industry, serving equipment manufacturers, owner/operators, and industry regulators. Prior to founding SPS in 1987 he held various positions in General Electric's turbine businesses, with a focus on “design for reliability” processes, product improvements, and customer service. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, a past Chairman of the Electric Power committee, and a past Chairman of the ASME Standards Committee on reliability. He is a member of the American Society for Quality Control, and an ASQ certified reliability engineer. He is also a member of the PowerGEN International advisory board for 2016 and 2017 in the area of the “Digital Power Plant.” He has written and published numerous papers on reliability issues and performance trends in the industry, receiving a “best paper” award in 2001 for a paper entitled “Gas Turbine Performance of Mature, F, and Advanced Technologies 2000”. Glenn England Glenn England is a Principal Consultant with Ramboll Environ in Irvine, California. Glenn has more than 30 years’ experience related to stationary source air emissions control, measurement and monitoring and combustion system design. Prior to joining Ramboll Environ in 2009, Glenn was a vice president at Energy and Environmental Research Corporation and a manager at GE EER after General Electric Company acquired EER in 1999. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mechanics and Engineering Sciences from the University of California at San Diego. Willie Grieve Willie Grieve became the AUC’s first permanent chair on February 1, 2008. Mr. Grieve is a graduate of Carleton University in political science and the University of Saskatchewan College of Law. He is a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan and the Law Society of Alberta, and received an Alberta QC designation in 2012. Mr. Grieve has been involved in utility regulation and competition policy for more than 30 years and played a significant role in the regulatory evolution of Canada’s telecommunications sector. Most recently Mr. Grieve was vice-president of regulatory affairs with TELUS Corp. Earlier, Mr. Grieve practised law in Saskatoon, Sask., concentrating on public utility and telecommunications regulation and competition policy as well as construction law. He has acted for and appeared before the Public Utilities Review Commission of Saskatchewan, the government of Canada, SaskTel, the Stentor Alliance of major Canadian telecommunications companies and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission. Mr. Grieve has also appeared as an expert witness for Canada’s Bureau of Competition Policy, and worked with the government of Poland and the People’s Republic of China in areas related to regulation and competition policy. His academic work has been published in the United States, Japan and Austria. Mr. Grieve has been responsible for setting the overall regulatory tone of the AUC and for leading its efforts to explore the efficacy of different styles and manners of utility regulation. He has also initiated procedural reviews within the AUC in the areas of rate and facilities regulation to rationalize and streamline procedures. Mr. Grieve has led and chaired AUC panels that have issued major regulatory decisions in each of the areas of rates, facilities and markets. He is also a Thermal Plant Projects Manager in the Thermal Generation Area Division of BC Hydro. Manfred Klein Mr. Klein retired in 2013 after 33 years with the Canadian federal government, most recently at the Gas Turbine Laboratory of the National Research Council in Ottawa. As principal of MA Klein & Associates, his present interests include natural gas energy systems, gas turbines, distributed energy and air emissions solutions. With 16 years at Environment Canada, he was involved withnational emissions guidelines for gas turbines using output-based environmental standards, new taxation incentives to encourage cogeneration and waste heat recovery, environmental assessments, clean energy studies, as well as industrial training activities for gas turbines and cogeneration systems. He was with the National Energy Board for 11 years, dealing with natural gas pipeline and compressor station construction inspection and certification. Manfred is a former chair of the Canadian Industrial Applications of Gas Turbines Committee, and former Chair of the Environment Committee of the ASME International Gas Turbine Institute. Rainer Kurz Rainer Kurz is the Manager, Systems Analysis at Solar Turbines Incorporated, in San Diego, California. His organization is responsible for predicting compressor and gas turbine performance, for conducting application studies, and for field performance testing. Dr. Kurz attended the Universitaet der Bundeswehr in Hamburg Germany, where he received the degree of a Dr.-Ing. in 1991. He joined Solar Turbines in 1993, and holds his current position since 1995. Dr. Kurz is the past chair of the ASME/IGTI Oil and Gas Applications Committee, a member of the Gas Machinery Research Council Project Supervisory Committee, the GMC Conference Organizing Committee, the Texas A&M Turbomachinery Symposium Advisory Committee, the Asian Turbomachinery Symposium Advisory Committee, and the SDSU Aerospace Engineering Advisory Committee. David B. Layzell David Layzell is a Professor at the University of Calgary and Director of the Canadian Energy Systems Analysis Research (CESAR) Initiative. In CESAR, he studies the energy systems of Canada and models the costs, benefits and tradeoffs of technologies and policies driving energy systems transformation. Between 2008 and 2012, he was Executive Director of the Institute for Sustainable Energy, Environment and Economy (ISEEE), a cross-faculty, graduate research and training institute at the University of Calgary. Before going to Calgary, Dr. Layzell was a professor at Queen’s University (Kingston) and the Executive Director of BIOCAP Canada, a research foundation focused on biological solutions to climate change. Sean Yun Dr. Yun received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Toronto in 2005 He is leading a gas turbine related master project under bioenergy program of NRC as a program technology lead and a senior researcher. His R&D work has been mainly in the areas of spray, combustion and biofuels. His current main research interest is to develop a gas turbine combustion system, which can operate on pyrolysis oil.
