Sharon Almerigi CPF, CTF

Sharon Almerigi is Principal Associate of People Dynamics Associates in Barbados, an IAF Certified Professional Facilitator and a Qualified Trainer of Technology of Participation. Since the mid-90s Sharon has provided facilitation services and facilitation skills training in Barbados. She has facilitated in several other Caribbean countries and on 1999 co-founded the Caribbean Facilitation Network. Sharon’s services include strategic and action planning, team building and leadership retreats, community focus groups and designing and facilitating public meetings. Sharon is an IAF Assessor and served on the IAF Board as Regional Director of Latin America and the Caribbean from about 2008 to 2012.

Rangineh spent the past four years virtually facilitating cross-cultural collaboration among college students internationally. She also has extensive experience facilitating coalitions, workgroups, and public forums focused on environmental justice issues. Rangineh spent several years doing community engagement, working with Sacramento's most marginalized communities. As part of her capacity-building work, Rangineh has also co-trained residents in skills like conflict management and action planning.

Jonathan Bell, a partner at Prismatic Solutions, is a Certified Professional Facilitator who has worked with groups in business, government and Not for Profits to build consensus, solve problems and achieve results. Jonathan worked with Prismatic Solutions on a part time basis since its inception both as a facilitator and on the logistics side. In September 2011, he moved into the facilitation field full time after more than a decade working in software support and testing for Intuit and other companies. Patrice Briggs is a passionate theatre practitioner who has served as a facilitator, stage manager, singer, dancer, director and events manager over the last nineteen years of her theatre life. She holds a BA in English Literatures and Theatre Arts, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts and Cultural Enterprise Management (ACEM) from The UWI, as well as an MA in Cross Sectoral and Community Arts from Goldsmiths, University of London. She has served as adjunct faculty at the DCFA, UWI, for almost 10 years, and has worked with Arts-in-Action since 1998. Patrice currently serves as the organisation's Artistic Director.

As a Director of LENS International in Malaysia and LENS Leadership in Singapore, John facilitates organisation strategic planning sessions and conducts training sessions in creative and strategic thinking, change management, and participative leadership development. As a founding member of the International Association of Facilitators (IAF), John regularly makes presentations at IAF Asia, Europe, and North America annual conferences and contributes to the publications of the Association of Quality and Participation as well as the IAF, including a chapter on “Facilitation from the Inside Out,” for the IAF Handbook of Group Facilitation.

John is currently a professor of the University of Maryland where he teaches several on-line graduate-level courses in International Strategic Management and Country Risk Analysis.

Jeremy Kautza is the Director of Interest-Based Problem Solving (IBPS) at Madison Area Technical College in Madison, WI.  Over the past three years, the college has undergone a massive culture change from traditional bargaining to one where issues and problems are viewed as opportunities where all sides have interests and ideas for solutions.  Jeremy has helped lead the charge to the interest-based approach through his facilitation of IBPS learning events, facilitation of issues utilizing the IBPS approach, training of new college facilitators, and participation in and facilitation of shared governance councils.  Prior to joining the college, Jeremy has had extensive training in conflict resolution and consensus-based bargaining.  He brings years of experience in facilitating not only IBPS-related events but also classroom teaching and officiating youth sports (where his facilitation skills are really tested).

As Designer and Illustrator, I spent 10 years in advertising agencies and graphic design studios in Rio. Hooked by human and organizational development in 1999, one year later I transitioned my career to become a facilitator, working with pioneering outdoor education companies based in Brazil. With enthusiasm for rock climbing and mountaineering, between 2001 and 2006 I joined Outward Bound Brazil as Field Instructor and Facilitator in Professional Development Programs. In 2006 with other professionals, I developed the Train the Trainer Program for new Outward Bound Instructors. During these years, I have been combining my outdoor background with knowledge acquired in specific courses and trainings: In 2007, the Enneagram Professional Training Program with Up9; in 2008, the Coach Training with Brazilian Society for Coaching, BCI licensed; in 2009 the Consultant and Leader Facilitator Program with ADIGO Consultants; in 2012, the Horizontal Leadership Master Program with IMO Consultants; in 2013 Visual Process Facilitation with Christina Merkley. In 2003, with my wife and business partner, I started Aprendix - a consulting company for human and organizational development based in Brazil. Charlie Pellerin

n 1983, Charlie became NASA’s Director, Astrophysics. He led this multi-billion dollar program for a decade building and launching 12 satellites. NASA awarded him an Outstanding Leadership Medal for excellence. Charlie invented the Great Observatories Program garnering over $15B for space astrophysics. For this, the American Astronautical Society gave Charlie their highest award, the Space Flight Award.

In 1990, Charlie’s team sent Hubble Space Telescope into space with a flawed mirror. He then mounted the space repair mission that fixed the telescope. For this NASA awarded him a 2nd Outstanding Leadership Medal, an honor bestowed on less than 50 people (including astronauts) in NASA’s History. NASA then awarded him the Distinguished Service Medal, “when the contribution is so extraordinary that other forms of recognition would be inadequate” for leadership of the Astrophysics Program.

In 1993, Charlie joined the University of Colorado’s Business School as a professor of Leadership. He created and delivered a course called “21st Century Leadership” to undergraduates, MBAs, and executives. His classes had the highest ratings in the college, consistently “A+.”

In 1995, Charlie founded “4-D Systems” with sales of about $50M over the past decade. His team won the International Coach Federation’s 2007 Prism Award for “enhanced excellence and business achievement…with documented return on investment.”

His book, How NASA Builds Teams (Wiley, 2009, available here) continues to sell well in English and seven other languages. Charlie’s current passion is supporting human-developers worldwide in using his “4-D processes” to manage the Fifth Force (social context), enhancing business performance.

Recently, China Aerospace made Charlie an “Honorary Professor,” and Asia America Multi-Tech Association of China made Charlie a “Professor,” the 1st foreigner and 9th person ever to receive this honor.

Charlie lives a happy and fulfilling life with his wife, Junko, in Boulder, Colorado with extended occasional stays in Sapporo, Japan.

Eunice Shankland, owner of Shankland and Associates LLC, an independent consulting firm thirty years of international and US experience based in Centennial, CO. Eunice is a professional trainer and facilitator and a founding member of the International Association of Facilitators. She is a Technology of Participation (ToP) Mentor Trainer for the Institute of Cultural Affairs and has served as one of its Directors. She was responsible for staff oversight and ICA International’s strategic directions in the 70s and 80s. Barbara Sherlock
Barbara Sherlock provides internal consulting, facilitation, and training services in planning, improvement, and facilitation at Penn State University and to other institutions of higher education and nonprofit organizations. Ms. Sherlock served in the United States Navy, including three years in command, as executive officer of Penn State’s NROTC unit (where she co-edited To Get The Job Done), and as a consultant in the Navy’s organizational development program. Her education includes: B.A., Psychology, Wellesley College; M.B.A., Pepperdine University; and M.S., Computer Science, Naval Postgraduate School. He is the IAF Director for Marketing and Partnership 2014-2018, sponsor for FIA, Chair of the Danish IAF Chapter from 2013-2014, and was responsible for the Regional IAF Conference in Copenhagen 2014. Together with Lotte Møller Sørensen, Vagn has co-authored more than 30 books about organisational and personal development. Today they are both engaged in authoring and publishing the MILIFE program for young people. MILIFE concists of more than 30 personal competencies for young people between the ages of 13- 30 years.
