Pierre Bismuth is a Senior Advisor on Human Resources (HR) with Schlumberger Business Consulting (SBC). He is also an SBC Board member. Pierre has advised a wide range of Oil and Gas Companies (Majors, Independents and National Oil Companies) on strategic issues related to HR.

Pierre is also an HR advisor for several global players operating in a wide range of sectors, such as advertising, steel, and insurance.

He has been with Schlumberger Group for the last 38 years and was Group Vice President of HR for 10 years. He was Chairman of NExT, the Schlumberger training company and has worked extensively within Europe, South East-Asia, Japan and America. Throughout his career, he has been deeply involved in increasing Schlumberger’s employee diversity in terms of both nationality and gender, as well as making the company more globally-focused in its policies and teamwork-driven in its organization.

As an industry practitioner and enthusiast, Pierre Bismuth partakes in task forces and conferences. He conducts seminars on diversity, global policies and cultural changes for international companies and has been instrumental in setting up the annual SBC/ NExT HR Forum. He has also chaired an expert group (Women in Science and Technology-WIST) for the European Commission.

As a French native and statistician economist by training, Pierre graduated from Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et des Etudes Economiques (ENSAE), where he has also lectured on HR Management and is a member of the institution’s Advisory Board.

Pierre has authored several HR-related publications.
