Home dialysis is a strategic priority for NCAL but after many years of increasing prevalence, home dialysis rates have declined.  Physicians and Nurses need knowledge to describe home dialysis as a realistic first-line treatment modality for patients.  Although many clinicians are aware of the benefits of home dialysis, comfort with strategies to reduce barriers to starting and staying with a home modality and education about advances in catheter placement and repair, will reduce variation and will improve the quality and care received by all NCAL CKD patients.

The program includes world-class leaders in home dialysis.  These clinicians have published articles in peer-reviewed journals and are regular invited speakers at international Nephrology conferences.
