Keith Bachman
Head of US High Yield

Keith Bachman is a Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of US High Yield. Bachman joined Aberdeen in 2007 from Stone Tower Capital where he was Director of Credit Research. Previously, Mr Bachman was a Portfolio Manager at Deutsche Asset Management and High Yield Analyst/Director of Distressed Investments at Oppenheimer Funds. Mr Bachman has also worked at Merrill Lynch Asset Management and T. Rowe Price in high yield credit. He graduated with a BA from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and an MBA from Columbia Business School.


Spencer Edge, CFA, CAIA

Spencer Edge is a Principal of the Firm, Senior Vice President and a member of the Investment Management Team, with responsibility for investment research and strategy. As a lead analyst on the research and manager due diligence team, he performs initial and ongoing due diligence on prospective and existing investments. Mr Edge also performs financial and economic analysis in support of Tiedemann’s Strategy Team and Portfolio Management Team.

Prior to joining Tiedemann in 2007, Mr Edge was in the Global Risk Advisory Services practice at Ernst & Young LLP. During his tenure, he worked with the Credit & Market Risk Management teams and a derivatives specialist group, serving a broad range of clients, including a Fortune 10 multi-national conglomerate, global investment banks and large hedge funds. In this capacity, Mr Edge performed complex analyses of these companies’ investment and loan portfolios, as well as their derivatives portfolios and strategies.

Mr Edge earned a Master of Accounting degree from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Dartmouth College. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, and a member of the CFA Institute, the New York Society of Security Analysts, the CAIA Institute, the Foreign Policy Association, the National Committee on American Foreign Policy and the Brookings Society.


Shawn Harrington

Shawn Harrington is a Portfolio Manager and Head of Equity Research at CV Advisors. Prior to joining CV Advisors as a Senior Research Analyst, Mr Harrington spent five years working as Research Director at Indian Creek Asset Management, a value oriented equity and distressed securities fund. Previously Mr Harrington worked for seven years at Peter J. Solomon Company and for Gordian Group in restructuring advisory and distressed debt research. Mr Harrington received a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Chicago in 1999.


Dimitris Kavalekas

Dimitris Kavalekas is a Managing Director of Strenta Investment Management, a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), formerly W Family Office. Mr Kavalekas joined in 2009 when the family office was formed. Prior to that, Mr Kavalekas was a Senior Investment Professional at Magnum Global Investments - a fund of hedge funds/single family office.

Mr Kavalekas’ work focuses on traditional and alternative investments: long-only fixed income and equities, hedge funds, private equity, and real estate. His work also encompasses portfolio construction and management, quantitative research and analysis, and manager and investments selection across asset classes. 

Mr Kavalekas has also worked on sourcing, negotiating and executing secondary transactions, seeding hedge funds, constructing fund of hedge funds, sourcing and executing co-investments and direct investments, and working with clients to meet their specific investment requirements and needs.

Mr Kavalekas holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, a Master’s of Science degree in Fluid Mechanics and an MBA from the University of Miami.


Gerardo Nout
Partner, Director of Investments

Gerardo Nout has been working in the family wealth industry for nearly two decades. As the firm’s Chief of Investments, Mr Nout’s responsibilities include leading the firm’s Investment Committee in the development and implementation of the firm’s overall investment strategy, and overseeing the implementation of that strategy in its Investment Committee. Mr Nout also manages the firm’s investment team, working closely with them and the firm’s relationship managers to facilitate effective delivery of investment advice to WE’s clients. In 2008, Mr Nout joined WE’s predecessor, GenSpring Family Offices International, as Chief International Investment Strategist. Over the past decade, Mr Nout has worked extensively within the global financial markets.

Before 2008, Mr Nout was the Chief Investment Officer at Biscayne Advisors, Inc. in Key Biscayne, Florida. During his eight-year career at Biscayne, Mr Nout worked with both HNW clients and institutional investors.

Mr Nout earned his MBA with a concentration in Finance from the University of Miami and his Bachelor in Business Administration from Syracuse University. Additionally, he carries the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.


Owen Walker

Owen Walker is Managing Editor of Ignites. He previously worked at a number of titles within the Financial Times's asset management division in London, covering institutional and retail pensions and investments. Mr Walker holds a post-graduate diploma in newspaper journalism from Cardiff University.


Jeremy Whitley

Jeremy Whitley was appointed Head of UK and European Equities in July 2009. Previous roles at Aberdeen include Senior Investment Manager on the Global Equity Team as well as the Asian Equities Team based in Singapore. Mr Whitley graduated with an MA (Joint Hons) in English and Art History from the University of St Andrews and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh.


Christopher Wolfe
Chief Investment Officer, Private Banking and Investment Group

Christopher J. Wolfe is the Chief Investment Officer for the Private Banking and Investment Group at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. In this role, he works closely with research analysts and portfolio managers to provide investment leadership and guidance on asset allocation and portfolio construction to the firm's Private Wealth Advisors, Financial Advisors and their clients. Mr Wolfe also serves as Head of Global Customized Solutions, with responsibility for working closely with the firm's investment leaders in Europe, the Mideast, Africa, Latin America and Asia to coordinate and leverage the expertise of Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management.

Mr Wolfe has two decades of industry investment experience. Before assuming his current roles, most recently he was the Head of Investment Strategy for Rockefeller Financial. He also served as a partner and portfolio manager at Dover Management LLC, where he was responsible for managing a large-cap U.S. equity mutual fund and a U.S. equity hedge fund. Prior to joining Dover, Wolfe was Head of Global Equities at JP Morgan's Private Bank from 1997 to 2004. From 1991 to 1997 he was a portfolio manager at Lincoln Capital in Providence, Rhode Island.

Mr Wolfe received his M.B.A. from Columbia University and his B.S. from the University of Rhode Island. He is a Certified Financial Planner licensee and a Chartered Financial Analyst.
