We hope you will join us for the Inaugural Halifax Celtic Festival brought to you by the Celtic Cultural Society of Nova Scotia.
Mission: This non-profit society has been formed to perpetuate the cultural, linguistic, literary, athletic and artistic heritage and traditions of Nova Scotia’s Celtic Community.
Mandate: The Society will provide governance to an event organizing committee who will produce an annual Signature Event in the form of a free, public festival.
The objectives of event in order of priority are listed here. All are designed to ensure the mission of the Society is fulfilled:
1. Celebrate Celtic music and culture;
2. Educate attendees about Celtic history and language;
3. Enjoy our Celtic heritage;
4. Stimulate the Celtic Community through pride in our Celtic heritage.
5. Celebrate the Founding of Nova Scotia by Sir William Alexander
6 Build the infrastructure to support the larger celebration of the 400th Anniversary of the founding of Nova Scotia in 2021.
