Habia is the government appointed sector skills body and industry authority for hair, beauty, nails, spa therapy, barbering and African type hair. We are part of the SkillsActive Group, licensed by the UK Government as the Sector Skills Council for active sport, leisure and wellbeing, including the sport, fitness, outdoor activities, playwork, caravan and hair and beauty sectors. Habia's role is to create the standards that form the basis of all qualifications in hair and beauty including NVQs, SVQs, Apprenticeships, and Foundation degrees, as well as industry codes of practice. A central point of contact for information, Habia provides guidance on careers, business development, legislation, salon safety and equal opportunities and is responsible to government on industry issues such as training and skills. The London Hairdressing Apprenticeship Academy (LHAA) is a dynamic and innovative vocational training organisation that specialises in high quality hairdressing training. The LHAA offers high quality training in NVQs and Apprenticeships at our state of the art hairdressing academies in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire and Loughton, Essex. The LHAA provide training to hairdressing salons as well as training individuals that want a career in hairdressing. We provide training for salon juniors and we also provide salons with trainee Apprentices that have been carefully selected to meet the salon’s own requirements.
